Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10 1949) is an American businesswoman investor, speaker, consultant writer, syndicated columnist, television host, and author. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she founded. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran eventually left the business. Corcoran was a participant in 12 of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. In February 2020 Corcoran had signed 53 deals, with the biggest being a $350,000 investment that was able to cover 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was second child in a family of 10 children and was raised in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran's mother was a housewife. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He moved from one job to the next during Corcoran's early years. Her family frequently depended on food delivery services for free from a local grocery store. Corcoran remembers her fatheras who was a drunk at times too much, and behaved towards her mother disrespectfully and condescendingly, particularly after he'd had several drinks. Corcoran was a struggling student in school. Corcoran later found out that she was dyslexic. Corcoran started high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. After failing several classes during her first year of high school, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and was a D-student when she graduated.
